I have my screen at 800 X 600, but hey, it works, it's quicker than finding a link to, say, Google Maps via the Bookmarks menu and it hides itself when you've used it.

Well done.

Just found this widget and I love it. Only thing I don't like is that the actual search text form is very small (can't see what I'm typing) and I can't find a way to resize it.

Is there (or could there be) a way to remove the search text form like the other buttons (and use Opera's default google search form) or include a way to resize it?

version 5 is up

Nice widget! Like others before me said, you need to trim down the default displayed icon set a bit. Being able to set the order of buttons would be nice, too.

Seeing as it is a hovering toolbar and not a real one, I turned on the Personal toolbar, removed everything in it and put the GToolbar widget there. Fits perfectly.

This is a great widget. The default setting is too wide though. I use 1280 X 1024 resolutions, which is probably the "average high" resolution around. I wish the widget was about 900 pixels wide instead. The compact version is better but it's a bit cluttered with all the icons together like that.

this is very good widget .but it must have an orkut button.

Very nice - particularly for a first try. So different to finally see a Google toolbar when I open Opera!!

This is great! I like how it's close to fitting in the window's title bar (it'd be great if it fit perfectly and/or docked) so it's there no matter what application's up. Perfect for looking things up quickly when writing...I always found Word's dictionary/thesaurus wanting. Keep up the good work!

The widget it s bit too wide.It will be nice if the tooltip is shown near the position of the cursor instead of at the left edge

By Indyan, # Jun 25, 2006 5:18:04 PM

can add the gmail-search button again.

Bug: If you remove the GMail button, it doesn't go into the "Add button" list, so it's lost until you redownload the widget.

(On screen sizing: We have written a short piece on resizing widgets, that you can make use of to dynamically resize the widget depending on the screen size. )

make it smaller!!!

By Gvidas, # Jun 21, 2006 11:46:46 AM

Ehm... Perhaps I'm blind, but how to add a page to the toolbar? BTW - Realy nice Widget!

By Wokoloko, # Jun 21, 2006 8:08:41 AM

I'll second the request to be able to contract to only preferred tools. Also add page rank and autolink from the standard google toolbar. Not having PR is one of the very few things Opera can't do that other browsers can... unless there's an SEO widget out there!

By mjjack, # Jun 20, 2006 7:39:48 PM

all requests above are under-construction.

*edit*

I've updated it. To test it: set it to always on top > type a search > click the Google icon > click blogs search > groups > gmail > images > then then set an alert and buy the book.

By gabydewilde, # Jun 19, 2006 7:23:45 PM

I would suggest a way to expand and contract the list to only your preferred tools, or a default selection of popular tools.

This is a really great widget that Google would certainly like to see Opera users use. I agree with the other comments that each button needs to be labeled. I also think that the buttons need to be customizable since most will not use every service. Other than that, great work.

So many Google tools and I can't get to an ordinary google search?

If you want a more interesting interface for version 2 you could duplicate what has been chached here: http://www.theplaceforitall.com/googlex/

Good idea!
Cons: This widget is way too wide, even in my 1024x768 resolution. The mouse wheel makes the all the buttons move up and down.
