You want to know how many unread messages you have in your Gmail mailbox? You have more than one Gmail account?
multiGmail is the answer!
This little widget will check for you all your Gmail mailboxes!
Of course it'll work great even if you have just one account!
NEW Feature: Now you can check Gmail labels!!!
Changelog: 1.5: - a stupid typo prevented inbox from opening - solved 1.3: - now can check Gmail LABELS! - Solved another small bug with red bubble. 1.2: solved a small problem with red bubble image 1.1: - many bugs solved, even a serious one where the widget would report incorrect data! - clicking on account name will open that account's page in Opera!
It is OK, thx, but this widget can not use multiaccount...
If you have some accounts on GMail, try this:
1) Make so many copies from the widget, as much accounts of yours are; 2) Rename these copies to e.g. the names of accounts; 3) See step 1. in previous comment; 4) Locate the file "config.xml"; 5) Search and change this tag: <widgetname>new name</widgetname> (line: 3); 6) Search and change this tag: <name>new name</name> (line: 7); 7) See step 6.-7. in previous comment; 8) Do it on every copied widget; 9) Open widgets in Opera;
Temporary workaround to make this widget work with https always on accounts (until the author fix the widget in a better way):
1. Unpack the widget (it is just zip archie, so open it with any archiver) 2. Locate the file "script.js" in "js" directory 3. Edit it with any text editor 4. Go to line 240: var gmailUrl = "http://mail.google.com/mail/feed/atom"; 5. Change it to: var gmailUrl = "https://mail.google.com/mail/feed/atom"; 6. Save changes 7. Pack all files with zip archiver and rename archive from *.zip to *.wgt 8. Open widget with Opera
A side effect of this solution that you have to enter login and password in another dialog box that appears at first widget run.
i know this is not by far a solution but i use mail fetcher and multinbox settings from gmail at labs tab...
configure the whole thing from settings tab and now i can check labels, up to 5 different gmail accounts log on just one account and merge all this in the inbox.
as i said before isn't even closer to a option as this widget could check real time for new email, plus it was a tiny, unintrusive and you didn't have to have open gmail all the time...
but this might help a few users who have to check different accounts while this widget get fix.
I tried contacting the author but got no response back as of yet... I tried fidling with it since the day it broke but had no luck, Too bad, I had a modded version which included a notepad for small notes...
Unfortunately, I don't think that this is going to be fixed. If you don't mind paying a small amount for a solution then you could try MultiG from www.KungFuBox.com. I've been using it for the past week and it seems to be really good. It doesn't tick all the boxes that this widget did but it does some others which means I'm happy to keep it now.
I don't mind waiting, but I would appreciate a short "working on it"-notice. It's a great widget, it was really helpful, but as it doesn't work at the moment, I need to know whether it is likely to work again soon or whether I should start looking for some other option to deal with my gmail accounts. (Which would probably mean using Firefox more. =:-( )
Widget no longer works, doesn't log into account, nor does it display the number of new emails. This formerly very useful widget is now totally worthless, pushing me over to Firefox and its quite useful Gmail Manager add-on. how sad.
It didnt work on linux, it load forever and finally nothing showed up. I just install it so I guess I will wait a bit. Maybe i just dont have any emails.

On a side note - I would really like support for google hosted domain accounts as well - firefox extensions have it.

I use contarc's edited version --- thx contarc --- ( http://files.myopera.com/contarc/files/multiGmail.wgt ) but it does not manage multiaccount.
Has anybody SSL always-on powered, multiaccount version?
