this is my fav widget, thanks! Anyway, I have wrongly assumed after seeing the screens of 2.0 that you have implemented local time, it is only the last known weather time.... Can you maybe write a short script that it puts there the actual local time? I am more interested in what the actual time is than to know exactly when the displayed weather was measured, after all it updates on an half an hour or so basis and if the update fails it is displayed, so you never have a completely wrong display, right? I dont know, but I thought of a very simple scritpt that just adds or subtracts some hours / minutes to the local time set on the computer, to make things easy I would suggest you put a drop down at the settings window where people can set their timezone, therefore it really is a simple add / subtract process... Maybe I am the only one thinking that this would come in handy, but for me this would be a great improvement! Anyway, thanks again for this great widget!
This widget only makes http requests to weather.com domain so you probably shoudl check your AD filter, and set it to allow connections to this domain. The widget does NOT contain any AD!!!
Version 2.1 is ready and waiting approval. See the screenshot in my blog http://my.opera.com/risidoro/blog/ What's New: 3 days forecasts, old transparent skin (the one used in 1.0, for nostalgic); <enter>to submit searches, search text is selected instead of deleted when the search field has focus; partial code rewrite (will get more polished in the future). See the screenshot and comment it pls! Bye
7 vs 8 locations problem already fixed. I will commit ver 2.1 this evening, it will need opera approval before being published though so it'll become available monday or tuesday. Ver 2.1 will include also forecast! As for the <enter> submit search, i am working on it. It will be in ver 2.1 or 2.2 at most. Bye
Love it, love it, love it! Got one tiny little problem: I was putting in my locations and (since I do everything with the keyboard if I can), I hit <enter> instead of clicking on the "find" button at the top. It proceeded to erase my top selection instead of going and finding my location. I guess I'm a slow learner 'cause I did it about five times before I was done putting in locations. I have no idea how to fix something like that, but if you could let <enter> act the same as the button, that'd be swell. I see that you're already fixing the seven vs. eight display thing. Can't wait!
: of course you can add/remove locations at any time: just click on the gear shaped icon which appears in the top right edge of the widget when mouse is over it.
: I am a lousy typer as well, i added auto-clear to speed up the process of typing the next location! Your suggestion is very good, will add to next version. Thanks! bye
Hi. Here's a small suggestion to help lousy typists like me: when you click in the search field, any existing text is removed. Would it be possible to just have it selected so that if the name had been incorrectly spelled, then you could fix the error without retyping the whole name but to type a new name, you would just have to start typing. It's a trivial thing but would help a lot. Thanks. :-)
No, it's a stupid bug. Thanks for pointing it out; it'll get addressed in 2.1 (due next monday!). Bye and thanks again! BTW: what would you like to see in next versions? Any suggestions? Bye
Hi. It's coming along nicely. :-) I am having one problem: I cannot seem to get the eighth location to display. Only seven locations show even though the selector has eight. Is it my system only?
Hi all, i hope you like this new version. If you liked the previous one more, you can still find it at: http://widgets.opera.com/widget/9051/1.4/. Next version, 2.1, will include both the skins from 1.4 and 2.0. And much more Stay Tuned! Bye
I actually wanted to request an additional function but looking at the screens of 2.0 it looks as if you have already done it... I wanted local time so that it does not only serve as weather indicator but also as "world clock". Looking forward to 2.0 and keep up the good work!
New look went gold ten minutes ago! Expect new version (2.0) in a few hours (a couple of days at most: it's the time it'll take to opera guys to check it).
I'm working on an improved look right now. New icons, more readable dark background (different colors can be available), more professional feel (I hope).
User configurable skins are in my to-do list. The only problem: i'm probably the worst graphic designer in the world! But i'll prepare some skins, i promise. Thanks for your comment mate, i'm really happy you like my widget Stay tuned! Bye
