Try UniCrypt. It has more features. Why make a widget, which is always made?

I use 1,280 x 800 px screen resolution and I found that the MD5 textbox is too short in width. But, I can still live with that.

text selects by double click

what is your resolution ?

"mostly"? It seems to work fine, in what way is it unstable?
On my setup the MD5 output box is much shorter than in your screenshot making it difficult to select the text, i'd suggest widening it and setting "font-family:monospace;".
