Organise tasks in lists and add optional counters.
Based on dotoo v1.0 (thanks to tamster for upgrade permission) this widget let you keep track of your tasks with an optional expiring date which counts down in realtime.
Current version: v 2.04
Features: * Multi-language support * Remembering the last opend tasklist. * You can add an expiring date to each task (Format: yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm) * In the list overview the next expiring task is shown with remaining time and (optional) the name of the next expiring task. * The listoverview is sorted by the deadline of next expiring task (in each list) or by the list/task name (choose in settings). * The itemlist is sorted by the deadlines of the items or by the list/task name (choose in settings). * Some minor options for customisation.
Make suggestions and I'll review and implement them :-)
Features planned (random order): - Support for repeating events - Add Priority (if useful) - Switch to optional tree-view - Audio alarm - Option to set the maximum height of the widget _or_ resize widget at will - Add larger notes for tasks - Tasklists can hold subtasklist (if useful) - Theme support (to time-consuming) - Hyperlink support
If someone can give me a hint there is more I can try to implement: - Save widget position for "normal" and "minimode" (if possible) - Print all tasks (if possible with a widget) - Synchronisation (if someone tells me how that works)
Very nice, works perfectly for me. Thanks for this widget! If you create a new version I would be very pleased to see more compatibility for letters. So in this version in german you have no Äs Üs and Ös which sucks, because they appear pretty often.
I use Opera 10.20 Alpha1 Got the old version - now I updated it thanks to .
For future features here are my suggestions:
-Allow a user to select if he/she wants to put an expiration on the task. -Sync between multiple computers (Coz I use a netbook and here - the desktop)
Awesome widget. I'm using it to keep track of photography projects and it occurred to me that templates might be a nice addition. For instance, if someone does a similar task with the same set of steps involved each time, they could create a template of those steps rather than having to type them out every time they have a new project.
Very useful widget, I like it very much But could you modify it so it would be possible to resize the window. It is especially needed when there is a long list of to do ))))
I made some minor updates and fixes that brings us from v2.02 to v2.04.
- the height of the windows was increased and a sorting-option was added.
Adressing some questions/problems: "- add some explanation about the settings, they're a bit cryptic." Sorry, there is not much space and there was a mistake in the english language file, fixed now.
"- I can not see checkmarks placed in boxes (be it in the "change settings" or in the lists)" => No idea why, sorry (it's working fine here)
"- I do not see the effect of 'Options for list overview' what is it supposed to do?" => when viewing a tasklist: This adds a linebreak between your taskname and the time to expire
Suggestions: - add a linebreak between counter (number of items left) and next list item to expire. - allow widget to be resized (or allow user to set maximum number of items to be shown without scrolling). - add some explanation about the settings, they're a bit cryptic. - list task lists either alphabetically or by date of next task to expire; same for tasks (but independent from the lists order)
Great tool. In XP it shows no picture as an application using Alt+Tab - would be good do update it..
If it could "save as a text file" or export to a Opera windows. It would be fantastic. Then I can print it…some kind of puse symbols for ticked or not, can indicate the status. Cheers
Hi, I started off with the dotoo a few months ago and only by curiosity found your version. I really like the counter good work! here are some recommendations to further improve the tool: -I can not see checkmarks placed in boxes (be it in the "change settings" or in the lists) -having the same numer of lists v2.0 introduces a sliderbar which I don't really like, perhaps making the windows rezisable could help out. -I do not see the effect of 'Options for list overview' what is it supposed to do? -perhaps remove the information "all items exired" if no date was given at all! -last but not least an option of sorting the lists would be great.
Sorry but unfortunately I dont have knowledge on how to alter or program these widgets, however I am a good and critical tester greetings

Btw. I tried to promote the updated version but the opera staff didn't help. Maybe if some users write them ...

Not going to risk the problems i already have with solid apps that do the same thing...

More than likely a v10 issue as it works fine in v 9.
Just wanted to give you a heads up.
