kevcowley, there's a Motorways option in the Region settings.

Another great widget from you! Im using Opera on Linux Slax 5.1.2.3 and the widget works great!

Hello, great but you can get overwhelmed by data. Can you add some options to only show motorway info.

By kevcowley, # Aug 14, 2007 5:47:57 PM

Yes, unfortunately it needs to load script files from Google Maps before it can continue running and start the widget. I'm sure there's a method for dynamically loading scripts once the widget is loaded, but it may have unintended side effects, so it may be a while before I can implement it.

hmmm seems like a timeout problem from google maps for me

By philry4n, # Jul 26, 2007 3:11:21 PM

hmmmm it just doesn't display anything for me, it's there on the taskbar, but nothing happens when i click it.

Can you make an ireland version

By Pato3, # Jul 14, 2007 1:29:42 PM

What kind of format should the data have, that you need for other countries? Germany is difficult, because the services that covers the complete country often not free.

I potentially have US data, via Yahoo! - but it's in a different format so I have to build a different parsing module for it. But I'm sure it will happen when I find the time.

@johnnysaucepn
If you could find travel data for the US then I'm sure it would instantly become a popular widget. I love the widget design..too bad I can't really use it for directions tho..since I'm not in the UK and all, haha.

Dava - Because the various optional parts of the display are dependent on each other, it wasn't possible to separate the data onto individual drawers like touchtheSky.

So I stuck with one single panel, rather than confuse things and have people expect it to work the same.

Glad you all like it, though!

Evo2Me, I'd love to have more international options - any idea where I could get travel data for Germany?

By johnnysaucepn, # Jun 13, 2007 11:24:55 AM

Any plans to come up with a version for German roads?

By Evo2Me, # Jun 13, 2007 7:55:42 AM

Great widget! I hope that one day you may give it the same UI set-up as touchTheSky - either way the widget is still very useful.

Good work that man - wish I'd looked at this before I got on the bus this morning :-)

Great Widget, just the thing to keep me on the road. Keep up the great work!

Aw, shucks. You sure know how to make a guy blush...

By johnnysaucepn, # Jun 1, 2007 6:17:04 PM

You've only gone and done it again! Great widget, 5 stars from me.

By quarkslot, # May 31, 2007 4:24:53 PM

Good point - I had got used to touchtheSky having separate About and Config drawers, with a constant toolbar. So it was just a matter of switching to the drawer you want. This one handles differently, so I shouldn't have made the config come up by default.

One for 1.02, I think!

I was stuck on the settings view and I couldn't find the button to get me out of there.
Same here...

Great idea, I wish there would be something for the US.

Btw, it took me a few minutes to figure out how to see the maps. I was stuck on the settings view and I couldn't find the button to get me out of there.
