Chess+ uses the javascript chess engine and interface made by Sven Vahar to play chess against the computer. It has 3 difficulty levels, the ability to switch which side of the board you are on, and you can even take back your move!
************************************* 1.3 Update:
Changed difficulty level names. Added # of players drop down menu (this doesn't work! please do not post about this, as it is still under beta!). ************************************* 1.2 UPDATE: Added reload button ************************************* 1.1 UPDATE:
Deleted new game button and about button, as neither worked. To start a new game, you will have to refresh the widget. I will be working on making a new refresh button soon.
Please tell me if there is anything I should add/delete. Also, the next update (version 1.2) should be up soon. I will feature a refresh button and maybe a number of players control (it may be saved for 1.3 release). In version 2.0, I will take apart the code in order to make a config panel and will try to put the computer level, the number of players, and the rules there. I hope you en
It's a beautiful widget, but there's a little bug. When you swap to play with the blacks, click "undo" will block the game. You can click "undo" and move the pieces if you play with the whites, but not with the blacks.
Hey, I know you are working hard on fixing it, however, I noticed that "Hard" is actually not as challenging as "medium". After playing 10 games on each I won 5/10 on medium and 8/10 on hard. Not only this but of the two I lost on hard one was a false victory for the computer: it was not a checkmate at all. Having said this, the game is great! Keep up the good work!
Dude, i love the game but for some reason u cant seem to make the ol'rook and king switch when u play..... or maybe u can and i just cant figure out how to do this magic so tell me something bro.

BUG: It doesn't register Checkmate? I Checkmated the computer and he just took my queen?!? Then I can't take his king afterwards either :S

2 things i noticed.
i took a rook in its corner spot with my knight, he then castled my knight
with his king.
a number of times it will move the king INTO check or i check him and
he moves anyways.
its pertty good widget though.

if i try to move a piece the entire widget moves.
and when i tried typing the moves list, the text field acted just like a text editor, ignoring the steps.
only way i could play was to set the widget to single player and then swap every after every move. so the computer played, i swapped and watched. :-(
waiting for improvements.
