MyTV V2.6 Jan 4, 2009 6:16:58 AM

A widget for showing TV Listings, pulled from Zap2it.com

A real-time TV guide for the United States, pulled from zap2it.com. Uses AJAX to provide nearly instantaneous (depending on your connection speed of course) scrolling across time, no reload required!

Other features:
-pick your specific location and provider - not just national listings
-only display your favorite channels
-custom color background for different genre types
-open a single channel up in a new window
-click on a program and view a popup with program details
-search listings (new window)

Changelog:
v2.6: Time header floats on top, scroll position maintained when you advance back and forward in time.
v2.4: minor fix - load next and previous time blocks on startup.
v2.2: misc fixes to comply with zap2it changes.
v2.0: fix to comply with some zap2it changes, add version check.

Ok, it should be working again..

If you mean it's coming up blank when you submit your zip, I'm seeing that too, I'll look into it...

It won't take my zip code to set my provider. Opera 9.23 build 8808.

If you can suggest a good non-US site to scrape, I'd certainly look into it..

How about a non-US version???

Very useful, just want to say thanks to ja002h for making it.

Outstanding Widget.

One small feature request.
Have the time blocks at the top of the display stay static as you scroll down the listings. Would be useful if you happen to scroll right a couple of times after you've already scrolled down.

One large feature request.
Expand the search function to include the same fields as the advanced search on the web page. (from xx - to xx, HD, etc..) Having the search results show up in the widget like when you click on a show for info would be the ultimate in usefulness.

Thanks for the hard work. This will get used daily.

I love it! Works great for me.

Very nice widget, I use it frequently, thank you!! And everything is working properly.

By gettinoriginal , # May 11, 2007 3:07:00 PM

Yeah, there are a couple CSS properties I need to add back in for the detail window.

... fixed. Everything should be working now except for the strange time zone issue.

By ja002h , # May 11, 2007 4:25:26 AM

Fixed the listing display issue. Thanks!

However, I also see that the program detail is now buggy. Repeated station logo and lots of text that doesn't belong.

By skapig , # May 10, 2007 2:30:28 PM

Works again, but has a new bug: when set to "Display favorite channels only" the listings are displayed with empty rows in the positions where the unmarked channels would be displayed if the option were disabled.

Great widget and one of my most often used.

Zap2it has completely changed their code, I'm working on it now. Hopefully I'll have it updated in the next day or 2..

By ja002h , # Apr 29, 2007 10:12:31 PM

What is wrong with this right now?
It won't work for me either.

By ddebenedictics , # Apr 28, 2007 8:04:58 PM

Yeah I was trying to use it yesterday and found it wasn't working anymore either. They must have changed the html or URL again, I'll check it out...

I downloaded the latest version (1.22) of this widget and had to customize the new version. As an aside, it would be nice if Opera supported updating an existing widget so that configuration information isn't lost and it would also be nice if the "Widget properties" pop-up window launched by the "Properties..." menu item displayed the version number. But my real concern is the customization of the latest version didn't work. When I tried to enter my postal code (which worked fine when I customized the previous version of this widget), the result was very strange behaviour. I suspect that zap2it may be deliberately trying to find ways to undermine the functionality of your widget, probably in order to force users of their web site to view their ads (which would suggest that they haven't heard of ad-blocking).

wow!!! great widget! just need more colors for the genres.

thanks.

This is very cool. Can you put sound reminders for when a favorite show is about to start? That would be awesome.

By petrormpetro , # Apr 12, 2007 6:04:24 PM

... zap2it had changed the URL, so it actually wasn't related to Opera's version at all.

By ja002h , # Apr 10, 2007 7:01:38 AM

Thanks, I'll look into it..
