Hey I love this widget. Could you make it "multi-versioned"? Also, I don't know about everybody else, but comments (like from Florian7 and JoanRC) shouldn't be put here. Just because they don't agree with this widget, doesn't mean that it shouldn't exist.
Florian7 is quite right. Unfortunately, religion is becoming more politicized these days. I think the best way to combat religion is by studying religion. Therefore, I have downloaded the free bible software from eSword. This software allows the user to compare several dozen different translations, along with the translator's notes from a few. I have also bookmarked sites that allow me to view different versions of the Tao Te Ching as well.
I would suggest that the widget stick with the King James version simply because it is the mostly widely available version.
Anyone who wants to argue about the reliability of any version of the Bible should try to match wits with Farrell Till in his biblical errancy newsletter.
By far the most literal version is NASB, I prefer it over any other, a few i would use are the King James version and the New King James Version. Romans 10:9 that if you confess with you mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
Truly a great widget, However, Scriptures are from the Old King James version of the bible. That language is outdated. You could consider a reputable modern version. The NIV is one.
Florian7, when you are sitting in judgement day you may wish you had taken the time to read the Word! Imagine you're being told at the Gates of Heaven, "Sorry someone like you is not needed here..."
Also, I don't know about everybody else, but comments (like from Florian7 and JoanRC) shouldn't be put here. Just because they don't agree with this widget, doesn't mean that it shouldn't exist.
Anyway, You go kcleworth! Keep the faith!
