Be sure you're up-to-date on the Homeland Security level within the US of A. Maybe it can help you make your weekend plans: BBQ at the beach, or cowering in fear under your bed? This widget will report - you decide!
Can easily be changed to support other Coalition of the Willing countries that also supply feeds.

No, we're not that paranoid. This alert system is a big joke here because it never changes. This widget is a perfect example of doing something because it can be done rather than because it should be done. A comparably useful widget would be to tell you what year it is, updated minute by minute.

I note the widget programmer lives in Oslo. I'm guessing its a joke. I live in the U.S. and I don't know *anyone* that takes that thing seriously. Then again, I don't know anyone that voted for Bush, either. Hmm.

I'm not sure if I understand this widget. It hasn't changed since they started it. It will also never go below Elevated.

I guess the size of text is not important. People know the color code and if they don't the temperature of the color of good enough of an indicator.

When 'processing data' the image with the levels should be replace or there should be a loading bar somewhere ... not that plain text saying 'processing data'

GreyWyvern: You can always zoom in. Ditto on the Widget name (and icon).

I just browsed http://www.whitehouse.gov/ in IE and I saw the Homeland Security level spike to Severe

The config.xml title of this widget is still "Template Widget". It is also very very very very very very very very very small and difficult to read! Obviously some updating needs to be done here
