Hi, I have a problem with this fantastic widget. A ruler is not flexible, I cannot freely drag a ruler and drop it somewhere in a window. :-( Ruler is always fixed in a window. I have Ubuntu 6.10 -the Edgy Eft and Opera 9.10. In MS Windows is Ruler working properly.
Could you enable metric and US measurements? Howabout allowing it to be calibrated by holding a CD (which just about anyone has handy, unlike an actual ruler) to the screen and informing the widget about the width of it?
@ Jadd - can't imagine how this feature could be useful, but no probs. Here you are: press "L" for locking the position marker. Bold font of value of the position marker indicate "lock" status.
This is kool, I used kruler before and loved it, now I have it right there in any operating system supported. But with kruler I was able to open as many instances I wanted, like 2 verticals and 1 horizontal, here I'm stuck to only one, unless there is a name change magic somewhere in there . Help here... Done it again... Just use file->open the config.xml on the extracted zip folder
You want to know [cm] of what? Your screen? Element on your screen? Provide me yours display size (or its dot size) and resolution and I'll count it for you. Picture you want to print? Provide me DPI of the picture, and its size, and I'll count it also.
You see, I've made simple pixel ruler, and this is not tool to measure cm. Sorry.
Here comes new version with precise position control. You can move widget with arrows keys. While "Ctrl" key is pressed, arrows keys let you move position marker. Don't forget to focus widget first - if you just run it, it isn't focused yet. You have to click it (with mouse pointer). And now bad news. This feature doesn't work on Linux - sorry.
Hi unfortunately you right When I run "directly" widget - I can change color. While I download it from website - I can't. Fix will comming. I hope soon!
@ Cygnus - thanks for details. I've run it on Linux - yes - have the same. I'll try to find out what's wrong.

This is the only widget so far I use again and again. This should get a 'very useful award'.
Thanks for adding the lock feature (press L).

"best rating"(5 stars) for web design tools.
This is a simple yet efficient add-on that allows the user
to plot out CSS design of photoshop preliminaries. Well done.

I'm afraid that I don't quite understand.

There is support for Linux, however there is no transparency support. So it is rather simple ruler.
