Wonder number of downloads of your widget? Or maybe you want to know if there is any bid on your auction yet? What about watching webcam or random thumbnail picture from any website. Of course you can go to sites with stuff mentioned above, but you can also add some URLs to UniversalGrabber and watch selected items in one single widget. Unfortunately some basic HTML knowledge is necessary, just to find in source code of webpage strings before and after "item-to-grab". Version 0.1.1: Fixed lame bug Version 0.1.2: Dynamic resizing added Version 0.1.2a: Config button moved to top

Wow, this is a snazzy idea, it's almost like a custom RSS feed! One feature I think would be very useful is support for regexes (or even just wildcards, which would likely be much faster), but even if nothing like that gets added it'll still be nice to have around. =]
IMHO, it is a good idea to add to your UniversalGrabber the option PrintScreen the refreshed page with automatic saving of the image to a previously selected folder. This is a very convenient function e.g. for overnight monitoring of auctions, web-sites with stock exchange information, etc.
Hi guys, can one of you please, please tell me how to "watch" an image. I can't get this to work. For example this webcam image http://www.instacam.com/showcam.asp?id=CHC04&size=L How do I have to set it up?
Yes, I know. Instead of "begin string" should be "piece of string before item you want to watch (grab)" - the same with "end string". The truth is I couldn't find any better description (short description). If my widget download data forever, there must be something wrong. Could you send me URL of website you want to "grab"? I'll look at it willingly. And why "change display mode" button doesn't work in your browser is mystery for me. I guess I'll have to try Kubuntu.
It downloads data forever and never does anything (but the little lights on my router don't flash :^>). The "change display mode" button doesn't work. I'm using Kubuntu 6.06.
Config button moved! I've try to remove white space from the bottom of widget, but it looks rather not good - horizontal asymmetrical I would say - so white space stays on its place but I've made it bit narrower.
Additional layout - yeah, I can think about it.
Simple Mode = Change display mode (button from front of the widget) = kind of "space saving" feature.
Better now! You can remove white space from the bottom of widget if you move Config button to the top. Also consider to implement additional inline layout: DESCRIPTION: DATA DESCRIPTION: DATA DESCRIPTION: DATA

URL: http://www.instacam.com/showcam.asp?id=CHC04&size=L
begin string: <td align="center" BgColor="#FFFFFF" colspan=2>
end string: </td>
Works like a charm!
