A simple and powerful notifier for Bloglines.com. Shows a number of unread messages at the top of your screen, allows to set check period and appearance (two themes shipped with version 1.0). Localized to three languages: English, Ukrainian and Russian. If you interested in localizing to another language and can help -- let me know by email (opera.widgets.com)
It's the first version. Please let me know about bugs/misspells if any. Any feedback highly appreciable.
History:
1.2: fixed weird issue with selecting text of the number of messages on clicking, preventing user from navigating to bloglines site.
1.1: icon now show by animation if check in progress (if you would able to catch sight of the change, of course :-)))
2GianluigiA: yes, I wrote to bloglines.com support about a year ago and got reply, that my message received and will be passed to appropriate department... no a word from them ever since.
2mvc: it seems there are no way to fix that by me... you should report this to opera support (widgets rendered wrong on your system)... smth wrong in way of opera rendering transparent areas, it could be related to videocard drivers or something else. do you have same issues with other widgets, don't you? I mean a black/gray areas under widgets?
2panoptican: I'm sorry, I was too busy last weeks and seems there are no end... I've tried your account and get infinity sign too. I've checked bloglines.com answer, for your login bloglines report 7421 items (just in time of this message post)... It could be something wrong with bloglines engine reporting wrong numbers, it seems you need to contact bloglines support to figure this out in case thats not mistake and you have less then 1000 unread posts...
I presently have 265 unread posts and the widget still shows infinity. If you'd like to try recreating it, enter jason dot spidle at gmail dot com as the email address and see if you have the same problem.
2panoptican: infinity sign appears if you have more then 999 posts (that is skin related, 4 digits won't fit to current skin width). do you think this it is really important to display a numbers greated then 999?
p.s. I'm still gathering feedbacks before doing a number of changes at once. please be patient.
Last few days it always shows ininity as the number of unread posts in Bloglines. My problem or did Bloglines change something that the widget doesn't account for. Hopefully there's a fix because this truly is the most useful widget out there.
One thing: when I put the widget to the right edge of the screen the settings dialog appears off-screen. Don't know if the position of the dialog can be adapted to the position of the widget on the screen.
thank you for your feedback, I'll try to simplify gettings settings dialog at next versions. unfortunately, building such widget for google for now seems to be impossible because lack of https support for widget engine... but I'm working on the problem...
Super cool widget!! Can you make it a bit simpler by adding a button for changing the settings? I found it hard to get to it; I kept on clicking on the big 'B' icon, until by accident I clicked on the other icon.

p.s. you can check the number reported via bloglines api by accessing this url: http://rpc.bloglines.com/update?user=yourname.com&ver=1 (replace "yourname" to your actual mailbox name)
