It has no function for now

Hey if you were a ninja you could get the buttons to be mappable to keystrokes or other stdin (joysticks etc) that are user defined so it can control music players

Why not add functionality to the buttons?
Maybe the buttons could lead to Nintendo websites, another button to further updates to the widget functionality, or better yet let users map their own websites to it.
