Opera is cool man, its features like widget etc are brilliant. i was wondering how to actually download clips from youtube , but this video downloader has paved the way for it. Thanks man i appreciate for your contribution to such a cool widget.
For those wondering about downloading in a format other than FLV, they must download the FLV file, but they can convert it using a program like Super (http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html). For people who find it inconvenient to open up a widget to download the flv file, you can use a user javascript file (available at userscripts.org) to write in a link for the .flv file on the webpage.
There is a codec to play FLV: OsFlvSplitter. It allows to play FLV video files in Windows Media Player and WMPlayer-controlled players (All Player, Best Player, SubEdit Player and others similar). To download it click here
thanks for this widget so much. Tried everything to get my sound to work on flashplayer with opera in linux and.......nothing so at least now I can download videos change the file name and watch on Mplayer.Whew!
Excelente, aunque ya no me es posible usar el botón derecho sobre el botón verde del widget para "guardar enlace como". Cuando pincho sobre el botón verde con el izquierdo, aparece el enlace ".flv", pero Opera no pasa a descargarlo.
Excellent, but it is impossible to use the "right click" over the green button in order to "save target as". When I click over the green button with the "left click", the ".flv" link appeas in a new tab, but the browsercannot download it.
for those of you that are wondering how to convert videos to a different format, use Riva FLV Encoder (http://www.download.com/Riva-FLV-Encoder/3000-2140-10320097.html?part=dl-RivaFLVEn&subj=dl&tag=button) then input the video, and where it says "Destination video file" notice that at the end of the file it says ".flv" change that to ".mpg" or ".avi"
Great work, thanks! It works fine with Opera 9.10 on Linux. It would be very nice if you add a Clear button, or something like that which would clear the url content. Cheers mate!
I'm very glad that Opera also has such a widget for video download. But after trying I find it is not so convenient as downloadhelper(Firefox). I hope you can improve it. Thank you.

Unfortunately, it chokes on YouTube. When I try to save files, all I ever see is "get video", and if I click save, it causes Opera to crash.

Dear malcompl;
Just wanted to tell how much I like your VideoDownloader. This a fine example of resourceful coding and I look forward to your future works.
