"By froggy26rk, 25. June 2006, 04:23:07", If you look this guy's fav,"torrentspy", on the wiki, you will find it is one of the very few listed as having adware.
If you look up "torrentspy" website you will find a forum which critizes Opera bit torrent client as being banned by many "trackers" for, "not being a proper torrent".
If you look up "froggy26rk" you will find a short membership with no personal info.
Taken all together I doubt the sincerity of "froggy26rk", and I think the risk of adware in "torrentspy" should serve as a strong caution against it's use.
I'm with Ubot on this one. I like the idea of this and all widgets.. however the ability to create/add searches in Opera for whichever torrent site I like make this almost obsolete to begin with. Cheers though, as I really like it.. just wish it was more customizable or offered more choices, be they "Opera approved" or not.
Sorry, RodgerHyatt. You were right it was forwarded to their main site for some reason (seems that they have changed some virtualhost internally and their Alias or RedirectMatch directives weren't working properly)
I have fixed the problem now and you should be able to get a torrent properly again. Apologies to everyone affected. On the other hand I guess that means the widget will get 150.000 more downloads promptly
So to summarize: Please re-download the widget to make it work properly, thanks. And sorry for the inconvinience.
How about a BitTorrent widget in which you can add your own trackers and such via links? That way Opera wouldn't be endorsing illegal activities and people could add their own search-engines for stuff like unlicenced anime etc.
As a user one can however encourage content providers to endorse the Bittorrent protocol for distribution to increase the amount of interesting free and legal content.
You guys are totally missing out on the point here. Do you really think Opera would endorse a Widget that defaults to a search engine with pirated torrents? The sites you want this to work with are all underground sites. The search engine this Widget works with is probably one that only contains legal torrents, i.e. stuff that content creators have allowed free distribution of, or as you like to call it, "sucky stuff".
but the bittorrent search is really lousy, someone should remake this widget for www.torrentscan.com...or something that is similar in search to this site. but great working widget none the less.
What a dissapointment!!
