The Internet Storm Center (ISC) is a group which monitors the level of malicious activity on the Internet, particularly with regards to large-scale infrastructure events. more about it @ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Storm_Center
What my widget does is fetch the status of the ISC Infocon once every minute and update the image that is displayed. Images are credited to ISC.
