Just a little tip for upgraders (to version 2.5)...
As you can read in the history, skins are not supported at the moment. However, a "shadow skin" could occur. This seems to be a problem of version 2.5 handling skin settings from previous versions. Right now there isn't a user interface option to reset the skin to "plain". But you can edit the preferences file to do so:
1. Quit touchtheSky.
2. Open the following file for editing (here: Win 7): c:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Opera\Widget touchtheSky\widgets\wuid-4ec62662-3e4e-034b-0d95-7aff3efc7521\prefs.dat (Maybe the long ID varies.)
3. Change the value for the skin setting to "plain" (without quotation marks): <value id="skin" xml:space="preserve">plain</value>
In the new version (2.5) possibility of change of color of a background has disappeared In the new version (2.5) the control panel the widget at change of the form from a strip on a small rectangle remains on the same place as though the size the widget didn't change
Figures. I've been looking for a good, comprehensive weather widget for a while now, and this one looks like the winner. Of course it doesn't work with 11.60.
Не работает в 11.60, в 11.52 работает Not working at Opera 11.60, at Opera 11.52 all ok Заколебало, что виджеты никто не поддерживает. Найдешь хороший виджет, пользуешься и при каждой обнове Оперы постоянно что-то начинает работать не так А поддержки нет
Unfortunately, it doesn't (yet) work together with Opera 11.60 Beta (here: Build 1150). The widget permanently shows "Loading...". Process Explorer indicates only two local TCP/IP connections after startup, that's it.
This is the best most light weight weather widget if you are an American. Unfortunately a simple search for the term weather does not turn it up and you have to dig for it if you do not remember the name. What is with that? Is opera mad at you?
Got rid of Oslo today when I had been trying for two days. Put in Raymond [my town] in MS, and left off the state, then I ran search, which brought up 8 to 10 towns named Raymond which had the state after Raymond. I clicked on my town which had MS. It picked it up, I then clicked on the little wheel and a miracle took place, Oslo was replaced by Raymond, MS and I received my weather just checked its still working, put its Icon on my desktop. Hi, I'm trying to do some widget ajax magic with jQuery but my calls keep failing with a No Transport error. Is there some trick you pulled to get it working?
Got it - you're absolutely right. There's a rogue "s" in there that must have crept in when I moved to using jQuery, so it's retrieving the first "sunrise" in all the "days" instead of in that "day". Will be fixed in the next version.
In my example it takes the info for +1 day from today. In my previous example I have no idea where it took the information from - I couldn`t find such sunrise/sunset times for my location in the site.
I can only display the information as provided to me by AccuWeather - I can't detect if that's different to what's shown on their site. Thankfully it only seems to be a matter of a few minutes, had visions of it being a few hours!
The satellite pics will be back in the version waiting to be approved. The pics are being served from a different web server than the rest of the content, and this needs to be built into the security policy. When Accuweather change the server name, the first I know about it is when the pics fail!

Anyway, I still miss the satellite image - this started with Opera 11 (11.01 - 1164 now) on my XP Pro, SP3. Take a look:
