URLZipper V1.0 Feb 26, 2006 11:08:49 AM

Due to abuse from spammers I decided to close down the backend service of URLZipper.

Admin(s): If you read this, please remove this widget, as I requested months ago.

URLZipper makes short URLs of your long and complicated web addresses. Convenient when including web addresses in emails, forum postings or blog entries.

Something must be wrong. Like the other said, after inserted a URL and press on the big blue button, nothing happened. Otherwise, would be a very useful widget.

Input long url press button and nothing. No response. Even more useless than Tinyurl, which you have to dl every time to use.

Your tinyurl widget is nice, Henrik

> - takes up less memory
I'll give you credit for the small size, but remember - by default Tinyurl produces URLs 3 Bytes larger than URLZipper P:

The tinyurl-widget, at http://widgets.opera.com/widget/4080 :

- looks nicer
- supports submitting with the Enter-button
- takes up less memory

The funny thing is that both is made in Oslo

Version 1.0.1: Fixed an URL encoding bug

By c3nes, # Apr 5, 2006 0:13:01 AM

Well that's now.

Sounds good, probably once widgets stay pined (meaning that you don't have to re-download it every time you start up opera) this will be one that i use.

> Is there a limit to how long the simple version of the url works for?

For the time being there is no limit.

Is there a limit to how long the simple version of the url works for?

By Hylic, # Mar 26, 2006 3:00:34 AM

This works famously! Thank you!

By Wiccan, # Mar 7, 2006 9:55:50 PM

Yep, it's mine.

I'm glad you liked it

I didn't say it was a simple URL -- When I need a short url, I really need a short URL P:

It works splendidly, now -- looks like I'm pinny another widget on my desktop

-- Is 7ref yours? I might switch rereplace to using it rather than tinyurl. It's shorter than TinyURL and tinyURL doesn't have a nifty widget.

That URL was a real acid test :eyes:

Well, the server side script has been fixed. Please give it another try

This widget isn't working for me -- I'm attempting to use it to miniaturize a relatively lengthy URL that uses the GET data to fill a form -- here's a tiny URL of the url in question:
http://tinyurl.com/jntaf

The error I get is "invalid url http://" under the text entry box in your widget.
