Pandora Radio Widget V2.4 Feb 13, 2006 4:58:43 PM

Small simple widget to display pandora radio. shadowk added window-shading and title updating! d.i.z. added a connect button, fixed the issue on initial minimizing, and corrected the validation problems!

Updated for player version 7.200 on 7/27. Also, major thanks to Tommy O from Opera for giving hints on getting it working in the latest builds and tobs999 for the Ajax call to get the current player version!

People don't seem to be reading the comments, so I'll restate things here.

1) I cannot do anything about the transparency until Opera officially supports flash in widgets. I have been told this will happen, but no timeline.

2) This just uses the current Pandora player. I cannot make a new improved skin for the player until Pandora releases a full API. They have assured me this will happen, but no timeline.

5 stars! Great stuff! But I really don't like the transparent appearance, how can I change it to normal appearance as the web one?

I love this widget! Thank you very much!

This is great! Do you happen to know why this uses less RAM, virtual RAM mostly, than when you actually go to the webpage and load the player. I ask because I also had the Pandora.com panel and whenever I loaded it up it would take up massive amounts of virtual RAM, 300 MB about.

Edit: Actually after a while the RAM goes up too. Oh well.

Great widget. Pandora just wasn't working in Opera (9.02 linux) until this widget. Thanks a whole lot. gave you a 5 - everything works even has the 'Listen Now' Button.
Transparency? I can't see it.

all works very fine with me, only problem, scrolling of stations do not work (blocker problem), as much as the volume slider (secondary).

Very great work by all means.
Excellent! happy new year

Seriously, I don't know why this isn't rated higher. This uses less system than pandora's box(sucks), with the same effect, even while I'm surfing. Its the best pandora tool I've found. Make a pandora's jar widget and we'll all be in your debt.

I've trouble showing this widget. All I see is the black tilebar "Pandora finds music you love" and the minimise button. The rest is all white transparancy box. When I move the mouse over the white field it "erase" the whiteness and I see whats underneath.

I've updated Macromedia Flash and running Opera 9.02.8585.

See in the comments thats problem with the transparancy but it cannot be as bad as mine. I se nothing.

Other widgets are running fine.

Help anyone?

Wow! I am so impressed! Thanks for your hard work.

Hey how about switching between maximized and minimized when double clicking on the titlebar to make it that much easier :D, great work, is a brilliant widget I've been using it for months.

Sure wish I could run this under Linux (Ubuntu AMD64). I have Flash9 installed and it starts the player but then dies a few second after loading.

Excellent, 5 start product.

Slight issue for UK users (nothing to do with the widget, an issue wioth Pandora).

You are only able to register of you are a US resident. No problem though, when it asked for ZIP code, just seatch the internet for a US company....get there ZIP code and use that. Hey Presto, it thinks you are a US resident and you have music all day long!!!

I am on Linux, and I mainly use opera so I don't have to deal with tab mix plus on Firefox, so opera doesn't have any of my passwords. So how did opera automatically log me in? I haven't visited pandora.com in a while (and I have cleaned cookies since then). Other than that, nice widget.

Like several other users, I am also getting the current track database number "by undefined" in the track title scroll window, which makes the title scroller pretty useless. Shading is a good idea, but the transparent background in the main window makes the text VERY hard to read. I imagine that transparency is necessary to display the title scroll bar above the main window, but I wouldn't complain if you did away with the transparency altogether. I already had a Pandora account, but many users are reporting problems registering through the widget. The buttons in the main window don't immediately respond to mouseover, although the "real" Pandora interface doesn't have this problem. It seems this needs a lot of additional work before it's considered anything more than a beta.
