(Version 1.2) This widget downloads and displays the RSS feed from Digg (a technology news website). If the default 10 minute update time is too slow for you, just click the refresh button in the top corner.
The refresh button looks very familiar, but for my taste I don't think it looks good in your widget. Perhaps more specific widget buttons should be added from our design team.
Linking directly to the articles, instead of to the Digg comment sections, is certainly to my taste. But, then what is in it for Digg? Somehow this should lead traffic to Digg, don't you think?
Perhaps two links (read story ...) (read comments (X)), or how about letting the user choose on the flip side.
Actually, I was planning to display a link to the article within the widget (right now it only links to the digg comments section). If I added this feature, it should be alright to add the "Digg stories from within the widget" feature too because folks *would* be able to read the article.
But maybe not. Maybe it is good that we force users to see the comment section before they can digg. What do you think?
Version 1.2 change: -Text changes from "click to expand" to "click to contract" and back again when clicked instead of staying at "click to expand" all the time.
Planned features: -Digg stories from within the widget -Flip button for Digg spy -Customize the update time instead of being fixed at 10 minutes -Screenscrape the digg homepage to get the stories live instead of having to wait for the RSS feed to be updated
well chess, when I read "You can use diggdott.us ..." I thought you were asking to combine digg, slashdot and del.icio.us, which would be a neat idea actually
Version 1.1 changes: -If the story's title is too long, it gets cut so it won't go outside the display area -Added a refresh button to the top-right corner -Changed update time from 30 minutes to 10 minutes
Planned features: -Digg stories from within the widget -Flip button for Digg spy
If I can find a nice way to integrate the /. widget, I will.
Note: stories appear on the digg homepage sooner than they get into the digg RSS feed. For this reason, some stories will show on the website before they show in the widget.

Post whatever changes you think should be made and I'll (try to) add them in the next version.

-Digg stories from within the widget
The last thing Digg needs is people who digg stories without reading the article. Just a thought.
