I was hoping to be able to use this as a widget, as the new version of the Unite media player doesn't seem to work with the new Opera. As previously pointed out "-" is not accepted in the user name, so I can't find myself anyway.
When I listen to music on my laptop with this widget while the music is standing on another pc at the same local network, is the music streamed from that pc, through my router to the laptop or over the internet?
Awesome for a 225kb widget. Not as full featured as winamp remote, but much easier to use. Users sharing is great!
It would be much better if it read more metadata so it could either sort or filter by genre. Also, songs are listed and played alphabetically, not by track number. Its also not pulling in album artwork. And while I'm at it, the mini player is about 2x the size it needs to be, imho. Keep yo chins up- its a great start!
yes you can. Just run unite's Media Player application on your computer. Then, you can connect to it using this widget from anywhere (or just using any browser from anywhere).
When I connect to my opera unite from my computer or a local computer. The widget download over internet and not from local, so it's very slow (and I lost upload speed). Please try to repair.
apa240: FYI accessing a Unite application running in the same instance of Opera does not go on the wire, it's all direct access. Things go on the wires when accessing a Unite application from another browser.
Would it be possible in a future version to detect instances of Media Player running on the current computer, so you don't have to upload/download to listen to a local file?

Great. now I have no Web-player at all :-(
