eduMap provides a fun way to learn the location of countries, states and capitals. Includes multiple maps, high scores and different playing modes.

Always wanted to learn the location of each African country? How about capitals of U.S. states? Maybe you never had a chance to learn all the names of all independent European nations since 1991?

The eduMap widget provides a fun way to learn the location of countries, states and capitals. Select either a full continent or a subsection of countries, then be quizzed on their locations. In the default mode, just hover over a country or state and discover its name, capital, area and population.

Different quiz modes are available to help you lean in a variety of ways. High scores are recorded on your system, based on percentage correct and completion time. 100% SVG based, so you can resize the widget to whatever size is preferred without any quality loss.

Currently Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and the USA are available. More maps may be added in the future.

Optional languages are English, Russian and Finnish.

Wow, Chinese claiming Taiwan to be part of China. IBut Taiwan doesnt want to be part of China, if u cant understand that, CHinese people shouldnt be welcome anywhere in the world

Please, add map of Federal subjects of Russia with it's capitals and flags.
Also you can add flags of USA states. Thanks for this great widget!

Hey, very nice widget, yet I hope the missing countries will be added one day. Then, something could be nice too, if it was possible to select a capital from the name of the country, and not only its shape, because it's pretty easy to remember a couple name of the country / capital of the country.

Anyway, it's a great widget ! Thank you !

To update my previous post: Montenegro flag could be easily added to "c:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\eduMap\flags\" as file with name "me.svg". Download the .SVG file from Wikipedia.

Old maps. Some countries completely missing. Like Kosovo or Vatikan. I dont see how this can be an educational map when it lacks basic knowledge.

Any chance to include information for Malta to the Europe and southern Europe sections? It shows on the map (the tiny speck south of Sicily), but there is no rollover info.

Taiwan is not part of China, no matter it's from the views of international law or from the view of the histroy. And that's why China try so hard planning to invade Taiwan.

We all know the China is not trusted by the international society and Chinese government has shown their ambitions to dominate the world with the military force. Taiwan is just the first target.

There is a minor problem with the flag of Montenegro (Europe). It is "empty" and causes bewilderment during flag options. If possible please insert the flag. It is available here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Flag_of_Montenegro.svg

When having to choose the name of the country from the list the highlight is kinda laggy(altough it clicks almost fine) and the buttons from the list would probably look better if they had a size that could be adjusted independent from the size of the widget and while at it why not be able to choose the number of options available when answering.

Very good software to learn gegoraphy. There are some bugs which need to be resolved eg. if you look at the map of USA the flags it shows is not correct and keeps changing. More value can be added to it if world fact book can be added to it.

Hi like the widget. However the Canadian flag shows for the USA map. You might want to change it. And is it possible to put Canada the same way as the USA map in the future. Just a thought

The Widget is invisble on my PC. On my notebook i can use it. But if i run it on my pc i cant see anything. it appears in the taskbar and on a rightclick on it i can choose "move" and the mouseicon for moving appears. the deumap window seems to be there but i cant see it... help!!!!
