Wish list feature support

BOXER-engine 作 , # 2010/09/26 14:25:18

Nice widget, but long retweets (somebody retweets 140 chars long tweet) are shortened and ends with "...".
And when new tweets appear, list doesn't scroll to its very top.

jenda69 作 , # 2010/09/22 9:42:03

for 4.4
- doesn't always save position/size (sometimes when open it again its in the upper right corner, half out of the screen or something)
- scrolling uses lots of cpu (25% -> full load on one core for me on a quadcore)
- scrolling isn't smooth
I don't like the positioning of the window controls (close, minimize etc.). align them proper to the window or maybe use application mode.

DrillSarge 作 , # 2010/09/20 3:57:36

really nice improvement from 4.3!!!

keep making really powerful widgets like this!

BTW i love the new redesign

PS: the icon.. doesn't look good in windows 7 i think it needs more resolution

basarium 作 , # 2010/09/17 0:05:31

Somehow I got this widget super-maximized (i.e. its vertical dimensions are much larger than my screen can fit), and I cannot restore it to the original size. Please help!!!

EDIT: Problem was solved by uninstalling the widget, deleting its setting folders in Local and Roaming Users folders, and reinstalling it again.

AleksOD 作 , # 2010/09/16 18:11:21

Rounded avatar images? Why I need those? Original avatars are not rounded.

FataL 作 , # 2010/09/15 19:29:38

Very good to:

+ New icons
+ New distinct colors to backlight mentions and own posts in timeline
+ New RT Twitter system. (I think better keep both options and give the choice to user).
+ Hashtag works using special chars as "áéíóúãç"

Resources lost and should back:

- Inline profile timelines and hashtag views (no need open browser)
- CTRL+Enter to tweet
- Near
- DM sent and reply via DM option

New suuggests:

- Autocomplete using lists (follow/followers, users in timeline, users mentioned in original tweet replied, custom lists on Twitter). Can use IRC mode, using TAB to alternate user having a similar combination like <TAB> to and <TAB> to and <TAB> to ...
- Add support to other image services (similar Twitpic) to show thumbnails.
- Add support to geotagged tweets, using geolocalization browser engine or customize.
- Group entire context using replies-to history. Example: A in reply to B and B in reply to C and C in reply to D, shows A, B, C, D in a timeline.
- Add reply-all option, that mention every in a tweet in instead of only original poster.
- Show join date, follow/following and tweets sent number to own and to other in profile view.
- Show RT by you, RT from you and friends RT as Twitter page.
- Show map in a geotagged Twitter (from here) - like thumbnails
- Show app used to Tweet (via app)

links are shortened on the fly. Type some url and space after it.

lowik 作 , # 2010/09/13 9:54:19

OK. Another Linux lesson learned. I've started widget from console and errors are logged there. Last line of errors after clicking Signup contains link which can be pasted in any browser to get PIN.
(the last line also shows that widget uses xdg-open for opening links and I have to configure it somehow [ln -s /bin/opera /bin/firefox ? lol ])

Charly 作 , # 2010/09/09 20:01:02

: You don't have any command like sensible-browser? If so you might (temporarly) change your default browser by changing (temporarly) which file the links /etc/alternatives/x-www-browser points to (I guess now it points to /usr/bin/opera or some like that, you can check using "ls -l" command).

This is of course not an optimal way to do it and I think the problem about external links in widget on linux shouldn't be adressed by Opera devellopers as a priority

batspeed 作 , # 2010/09/09 19:09:57

Has anybody some workaround for problem with PIN? I can't set default browser and I'm looking for some other way to display website with PIN. I'm using Linux without desktop environment (just IceWM as WM).

Charly 作 , # 2010/09/09 18:11:33

- KANKA-547 (URL shortner integration) - integration with bit.ly

Sounds nice. But how does it work exactly?

cousin333 作 , # 2010/09/09 17:21:15

I also found 2 bugs.
http://i56.tinypic.com/2pzcpah.jpg (The name "in reply to" is just wrong)
http://i52.tinypic.com/2nst5k5.jpg (The time is wrong, it looks like it's set from the refresh time and not from the actual time)

Also this is all on Mac OSX

HaatBaard 作 , # 2010/09/08 19:52:16

Again, the widget window should focus on to the top of the tweet list after the new tweets have come. I have to scroll up every time to see the latest tweet.

theadolescent 作 , # 2010/09/08 15:28:15

OK,

Again about the problem of external li,ks. This is actually not a problem specific to this widget. But I found a workaround. The problem is that it cannot find the personnal directory (you can see the message when you launch the widget from a terminal). So the solution is to add a personalised command to the default web browser (on ubuntu its in systeme>preference>favorite applications) I had (again for ubuntu, this might change for other distribution):

opera --pd .opera

as a custom default web browser.

batspeed 作 , # 2010/09/08 15:18:44

Okay, after a few minutes playing, my initial comments:

No DM button,
It lets you post an 'empty' tweet,
There's lots of wasted space around the tweet listing,
Tweet entry box is awful - way too small
The default character countdown colours are wrong (white, red, 0, blue??!!)
Can't be re-sized sideways
Avatar pic doesn't show that a tweet is a reply (ie it has no embedded small avatar)
Wastes space showing me my own avatar and last tweet at the top of the app. Why would I want to know what I last said?

brianlj 作 , # 2010/09/08 11:03:55

Install problems on Vista32, Classic 10.61 with full Admin rights.

I had to make Chrome my default browser because Twiget couldn't launch an Opera page to display the PIN.

Looking back at the history of widgets with Twitter I can see that similar problems have happened with previous versions of Opera.

Most irritating and hardly a good advert for the widget - or Opera.

brianlj 作 , # 2010/09/08 10:46:06

There seem to be a problem however. I cannot open any links clicking on it... (this should be the reason of the sign up problem too).

batspeed 作 , # 2010/09/08 10:31:24

Hi,

I had a same the problem; no windows open at all to get the PIN. I found a workaround somewhere on Opera website. I temporarelly set another browser as default (I used Chorme). A windows immediatly poped up when I clicked on signup and now I can use the widget.

Note: I'm on Ubuntu lucid, and this seems to be a linuix related problem.
