Unfortunately there is no easy way to login in a clean way with the Twitter API, simply using XMLHttpRequest. which means that there can be problems sometimes.
I've never had problems with it myself, but I know people that simply couldn't login, and then some minutes later it just works.
We'll look into it, and see if we can fix this somehow.

There's a slight chance it's just to do with the site's apparently slow updating, but issuing a logout should clear the flag regardless.

Can login fine via the twitter page though.
Are there any cookie settings that might be affecting this?
