Use Google to translate text directly in the widget or translate a webpage.
Google Translator uses a theme based off of Gmail's theme! You can use this widget to convert excerpts of text and entire web pages to and from multiple languages.
Please take note of the following: * This widget will translate only the languages that can be translated by Google's own translation service. Language options will be updated as Google adds more language translation options to their service.
I would like to suggest that when you use the Dectect Language feature the widget would not only translate but identify what language it is, if that is possible. I know the widget works from Google translation service so if it doesn't do that you can't make the widget do it, but I thought I'd throw it out there FWIW. Thanks.
I just wanted to point out a way that users can increase and decrease the size of any widget. If your mouse allows you to change settings to give your scroll wheel/center button zoom functionality, you can use the zoom to resize the widget to your preference.
I just published Google Translator v2.3 and it should be available as soon as it is approved. To see what's new, check out the changlog (linked to above).
I just published Google Translator v2.2 and it should be available as soon as it is approved. To see what's new, check out the changlog (linked to above).
Very useful program, I did not expect that will be so excellently to work! Certainly is to steam of defects but these are trifles. As a whole it is excellent
There are many improvements with this build, but there are more improvements to come shortly! Enjoy the new interface! It's much more interactive and looks much better now. You will notice in the "More" menu there are two features that will be coming soon, so that's a bit of a preview as to where and how the progress is going.
Plenty of back-end work done to prepare for resizing the widget for a larger work space as well!
Also, there is now an update notification so you will know when you can get more features! Enjoy!
@SailorMax The version numbering system changed when Opera Widgets was last upgraded. I'll be updating the widget more and improving on the feedback here. This current version 2.0 and 1.42 are the same. It's the difference between my previous versioning system and how Opera Widgets now forces major and minor versions only now.
@SlyK I'll look into your suggestion about dictionary mode. I can't give a promise or date yet, I'll just have to see how it fits in to the widget. Thanks.
@redcentaur I've had a couple suggestions in the past to make it resizeable and that is on the to-do list, but it may take me some time to get it sorted out just right. Rest assured that I am looking into it and working on a proper update for this.
@mchk0123 This is a very good suggestion and would be very convenient, but I'm not sure that it is possible with Opera widgets at this time. I'll look further into this and see what I can make happen. Thanks.
@gpemps The Google Translator widget is making use of Google's own translator and will only offer the ability to translate between the languages that Google offers from their own translation service. No more and no less. I'm sorry that your language isn
Very nice widget, one last step and it will be perfect :
prefilling url field at each time we change the active document tab ; this will avoid to do the annoying Ctrl-C / Ctrl-V to Copy / Paste the URL from the URL adress bar
Great widget. The only issue I have with it is that the widget is not resizable. It would be great to be able to view more text without having to scroll.
Why on this page under screenshot we have "V2.0", but widget it self write "version:1.42"? And why it not remember open/close status of options, if it part of main window? (I think it is not an options... Its a controls...)
