first: congratulations to everyone who's just now switching to dvorak! never again will you rest a finger on a semi-colon yet reach for the "E" key, haha.
but, seriously: i switched a couple years back because my two hobbies (programming/web dev & playing guitar) had a sort of synergy when it came to tearing up my wrists. and yes--all is better now!
advice: several popular learn-to-type softwares DO have dvorak options. this made it much easier for me. also, if you can find a buddy for support, it'd help. i switched with a friend; we went from our typical "type-as-fast-as-we-think" chats to a painstakingly slow attempt to converse, but we stuck with it for a week--and that's all it takes.
good luck, and good job on being smarter than everyone else.
Thank you so much. Its very helpful. I love the Dvorak layout. I no longer have arthritis nor cramping from typing. Qwerty overworks your fingers far too much, ouch. I will always keep this widget.
