Time and Date 1.32 V1.32 2008/02/15 16:47:40

A customizable calendar widget with events and reminders.

It is now easier than ever to translate the Time and Date widget!

What's new in v1.32:

  • Complete translation to greek.
  • Several minor bug fixes and code improvements.
  • Some CSS improvements.
  • Updated some of the language files.

To further troubleshoot this widget in Build 8732, the problem with this widget's display disappearing from view stems from any event which has a reminder coming due. The reminder window that should be popping up for such events causes the widget to vanish.

As mentioned in my prior post regarding this problem, perhaps this note in the changelog for Build 8732 makes sense in troubleshooting this:

Canvas: Stopped drawing lines from origin (0, 0) when using path functions in accordance with changes in WHATWG canvas spec. Note to Widget developers: This may cause problems with your Widgets if you use Canvas.

GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!

Is there a possibility to direct import/export events from Google and yahoo calendars?

I'm hearing the chime, but the display of 'Time and Date' is nowhere to be found. I'm using Build 8732, the latest weekly buid at the time of this posting.

The widget is open according to the Widget Panel. The display of 'Time and Date' was fine until the time came for an alert (the chime) to be invoked. Since the alert/the chime began for an event on my calendar, 'Time and Date' is invisible and therefore not accessible. I can only open and close the now invisible widget which chimes each time I open it.

Perhaps this note in the changelog for Build 8732 makes sense in troubleshooting this:

Canvas: Stopped drawing lines from origin (0, 0) when using path functions in accordance with changes in WHATWG canvas spec. Note to Widget developers: This may cause problems with your Widgets if you use Canvas.

This is going to be a problem when it comes to exporting into any upgrade since I cannot access the widget now for the export process. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

The only real things that bother me about this widget are some text display problems (the upcoming events is hard to read, for example), and how objects tend to flicker when you change their states (e.g. clicking a drop down box/hovering over a button).

Good job, and great improvements, though.

I tried most of the calendar widgets and this one suits me the best. Good job.

Great thing.
In fact all the Widgets are one of thousand reasons to join the opera community.
Thumbs up !

for how to disable the holidays. You have to change showHolidays manually from true to false;

Btw., if you provide me with a source where I can find the russian holidays, I could've included them in the widget.

rkm 作 , # 2007/02/27 12:40:37

Great widget, but how do I disable holidays if I don't need them? There are no Russian holydays, and as for me - I don't need any others

My goodness. I'm actually removing EssentialPIM from my PC. It's excellent and completely what I needed

.sk
Startup: "Continue from last time"
If you dont whant to get the tabs from last time, then close all tabs open your widgets and save this to a session. Let Opera start with this session.

Vinczej, how You mean: "If I attach to my Opera-start, I can use it very usefully."
Is there any possibility to make the widget start automatically together with opera?
I want to do it? How can I?
THX

Yes, it has been fixed. Thanks for the quick response.

DynaBMan 作 , # 2007/02/19 13:45:20

Thanks for telling me, DynaBMan
I can't believe I didn't notice this myself!

Well, it should've been fixed now.

rkm 作 , # 2007/02/19 7:04:14

I am not sure what is happening, but I have tried the latest version of Time and Date on two different installations of the latest Opera weekly and it works great, until I close Opera and reopen. The widget then will flash at the bottom of the screen when opened and depending on how I have it set(normal or always on top), will either stay in the taskbar and refuse to come to the top or stay completely hidden. One of the installations is a completely clean install with nothing added, not even my mail accounts. I also tried going back to another version of Opera and it still happens. Any ideas as to what the problem might be?

PS: I still think it is a great widget and the problem with the screen splitting when scrolling a web page does appear to have been fixed.

DynaBMan 作 , # 2007/02/19 2:42:43

Thanks for your comments everyone

: I think the problem you mentioned when scrolling a web page should've been fixed now in 1.2 beta 3. If it's still there for you, please let me know.

rkm 作 , # 2007/02/18 20:59:42

This is a great widget!

: Thanks for your kind words! Concerning the sound - I absolutely agree with you  (this was just the only one I found atm.)

I'm planning on changing the alarm sound for the next version. I don't think I will include more than just one sound, however, because the sounds make the widget grow so much in file size. But if you, or anyone else, have any good alarm sounds, feel free to email them to me!
