Time and Date 1.32 V1.32 2008/02/15 16:47:40

A customizable calendar widget with events and reminders.

It is now easier than ever to translate the Time and Date widget!

What's new in v1.32:

  • Complete translation to greek.
  • Several minor bug fixes and code improvements.
  • Some CSS improvements.
  • Updated some of the language files.

Could you consider for the next version the implementation of a fuzzy clock? One that says 'Ten to five' (and translatable). I use both your widget and a fuzzy clock, and the latter is taking a lot of screen estate. I'd like to have them both in the same widget

Awesome widget BTW

Rune, this is a great widget ! Thanks.

A very good widget - you thoroughly deserved that DS.

A minor bug for the todo-list: The appointments (in the right part of the windiw) are not listes in order of time but in the order written to the calendar.

BurninLeo 作 , # 2007/04/26 11:33:45

The best calender on the Opera widget market so far
Thanks a lot for this widget!

What I would really appreciate in the next update would be a Timetable of the current (and maybe the next) day. Like Outlook shows for tasks. This could be shown in a optional third column next to the calendar and task-listing. This would be very helpful since you quickly see an available timespan for a meeting.

Another irritation I suffered: After installing I tried to move the widget around. Therefore I holf mouse-button in the left half of the title bar (in Windows-style) but nothing moved. Man, was I happy when I could move the window by touching it in any other position.

BurninLeo 作 , # 2007/04/18 10:16:37

: Good suggestion!

I'll remember it. There's also a lot of other things on the todo-list, so it can be some time until this gets implemented.

What a terrific tool, eh widget! Thanx!

Is it possible to have the events searched? Finding past and future events by text instead of only by date would be fine.

: You can try this:
var exportedSettings = new Object({
"modification" : "restrainPosition=function(){}"
});
Import this code in the Import and export window, using the Import setting and events option. Just click Yes in the dialog window. You won't erase your events by doing this, even if it says so.

This will disable the snapping function completely, thereby hopefully making it possible to drag the widget to the secondary monitor.

Please let me know if this works for you.

Awesome widget, I can definitely use this one! I am having a postioning issue with it though. I use dual monitors and wanted to place it on my secondary monitor, yet when ever I drag it over, it snaps back to my primary monitor. Any switches I can use to locate in on the secondary instead?

: Make an event for the start day. Choose Repeats: Weekly. Set the desired values for Repeat every: and Repeat until, and put a checkmark for all the weekdays in Repeat on:. That should do it.

rkm 作 , # 2007/03/25 1:10:06

Is it a way to make events for more than one day? So i can put in weeks with the same program without making the same event seven times?

Guffen 作 , # 2007/03/24 22:31:07

Thanks for your comments everyone

: I've answered your question here:

If you want me to modify this, please let me know.

rkm 作 , # 2007/03/16 6:43:16

rkm,

Would there be a way to adjust the size of the widget when it is hidden and on top, when using one of the Widget Blue, etc. color schemes? I like the colors a lot better than the XP or Vista colors, but I could stand it to be a little smaller.

DynaBMan 作 , # 2007/03/16 2:21:48

A very good widget.. Now opera has a Scheduler/Organizer/Calendar tooooo...

Thanks

sakeeb 作 , # 2007/03/12 7:37:54

OK, thank you rkm.

: I've finally managed to reproduce the bug! It is a bug that can occur under certain circumstances. I'll release an update probably later this evening.

Thanks for your feedback!

Btw., you shouldn't need to restart Opera when upgrading. All you have to do is to go to this page and download and install the newest version. When you have done that, you will have both the old and the new version installed. Just start to use the new version, and if you want to, delete the old version. That's all that's needed.

rkm 作 , # 2007/03/10 19:06:28

: Yes, I am using the latest version of Time and Date Widget with Build 8732 of Opera.

OK, today I 1) deleted the Time and Date Widget (the very current one, by the way), 2) emptied the Opera Widget trash, 3) exited Opera, 4) re-opened Opera, 5) re-downloaded the Time and Date Widget and all seems fine now.

Previously, when I updated your widget I did not exit Opera before downloading your newer version. I am guessing a re-start of Opera is necessary when upgrading some widgets, perhaps?

I think a procedure which outlines the proper way to update widget versions for end-users might help avoid problems like the one I was having.

So, if you have time, could you explain the recommended procedure for upgrading your widget when a newer version becomes available? Thank you, again.

useful!!

deciocavallo 作 , # 2007/03/10 14:26:30

: I can't really see that any of the text is hard to read. Would it be possible for you to send me a screenshot? I'm assuming you use Windows, because as far as I know the other problems you describe only concern the Windows version of Opera. I'm using standard CSS/XHTML for the drop-down boxes and buttons, so I don't know why they flicker.

rkm 作 , # 2007/03/10 11:51:20

: It is possible to import/export events from Google Calendar by using Time and Date's and Google Calendar's import/export iCalendar feature. Note that Time and Date's support for the iCalendar file format is not complete, though. I'll work on improving it for future versions.

: Are you using the latest version of Time and Date? I have trouble reproducing this bug in the latest version. I know that this bug existed in earlier versions, though.
