You've got it! The initial game was not made for a widget and the mouse worked well. The problem with a widget is that the moment you klick on it the whole thing is dragged by the mouse, so the whole thing becomes unstable. I added arrow keys and spacebar for rotation in version 2.
Would be a lot better with keyboard controls. At least I find this quite difficult with such speed. Also, the mouse seems sluggish and blinky, making it even more difficult.

By the way, you can make something not drag the widget with this CSS definition:
-apple-dashboard-region:dashboard-region(control rectangle 0px 0px 0px 0px);
Maybe that will make the mouse controls better
