Fredtneck is a scale browser, using svg to render (parts of) the neck of a guitar. It displays each note in the selected scale on all (visible) positions.

Check Guitar Scales Drawer http://widgets.opera.com/widget/4213 Please add a similarly easy way of changing string tunings. I could not see how tomake custom tunings with yoyr Widget. Is it possible? Thanks !
hi, i completely missed your post here. i want to keep the scales online, so that changes/additions to the scales will be propagated without users having to update.
minimization sounds like a good idea, i'll try get that into the next version (when i get around to actually make one). regarding notation - at least when it comes to actual note names (A..G..Bb etc.) - i really don't want to do that. the reason for this - and the reason there are no dots (or smoked mirror shark fins) on the fretboard, nor a nut at the end of the neck - is that i want to get away from the notion of fixed roots. i feel it takes away from the beauty of how the guitar works. since the same pattern applies for a given scale no matter what the key, getting the right key is just a matter of choosing the correct starting point. however, i tend to get lost when moving op and down the fretboard using this widget, so some way do indicate the relative distances between frets is needed. i havn't thought of a good way to indicate this yet, so any suggestions are welcome.
and btw, anyone who's using this widget: please let me know of scales/tunings that ought to be here and are not, as well as any errors in the existing scales/tunings. i can add/change/remove without making a new release, thanks to the lovely web 2.0 and do let me know of any bugs. i have to make new version
Neat widget, could be very useful. Are there any plans to make it minimizable for us users who like to leave widgets minimized on our desktops behind all other windows? As it is, it is very large! Also, some notation of the notes that are displayed would be great! (A...G..etc.) This could be a very good learning tool with a bit more flexiblitlity. Great work so far.
