Save the pipes from leaking! A game of speed and skill
A game of strategy and speed. Connect the pipes in bizarre patterns to join the start and the end. Points are awarded to the most complex pipe structures.
This game is based off the game of the same name by TheGreenNight for Linux [link]. The pipe images used are also credit to him and are licenced under the Free Art Licence.
Awesome game. It just needs a pause button! Sometimes I'm making a really great maze and then the phone rings or something like that and causes a terrible tragedy. ;-)
sk8r644: The font is on my computer back in Australia so I won't be able to find out for another four months, sorry. DarkWorm: The click is more-or-less instant on my computer, yours is rather slow I assume?
I loved a similar game named "Karli Klempner". But here I have difficulties: Placing a piece seems to take more than a second between the click and the actual appearence on the board.
Just how can you guys be so fast with this? Any hints?
My high score is 6330. I don't use a piece laying strategy, other than I always try to place pieces connecting to others. when I get near the end I usually have just a couple holes to plug. The real trick for me is to be quick in deciding on piecep placement. I usually finish with about 85 to 90 seconds.
I'm sure my average score is way lower than others who use a specific layout. I probably average around 5800.

dante: It would normally be quite simple to do that, but unfortunately because the widget can be scaled, it would make it a more complex task that I could not be bothered doing right now. Glad you enjoy it though.
Instead of changing the mouse cursor, you could try to paint a shadow silhouette of the "new" piece in the place where it would be inserted - so the image would show up in a square when hovered.
If hovering is too unresponsive, maybe you can paint the shadows in a larger region? I'm afraid this would look ugly, though..
Or you could just make a "symbolic" mouse pointer, where scaling doesn't matter.
My highest score at the moment is 6305. Unfortunately I don't have a screen shot, but the pattern is similar to nemankg. The only difference between the two scores is that you get an extra 5 points for every second left over at the end so if you race and you're lucky with the pieces you can get that pattern done with slightly over 100 seconds left
