I have been developing a conventinal program of mindpad (written in Microsoft Visual Basic 6, started in 5) over 6 years. Every time I need something I add it to this tool.

what are the chances that we'll one day see your version of a dictionary widget? I've yet to find a dictionary that is as compact and convenient as mindpad

My sugestions:
Different color option.(But I like present colour)
Task bar with priorities.
That each task can have more than one categories to be assigned.
And these categories are created by user(but can be there some by default)
Like palm os but with more categories and each task can have multiple categories.)
You can create a task inside a task(etc...) that have perhaps the same categories assigned from parent task but you can change these categories.
You can combine with viking and parrot widget:
