The most famous clock in the world.
Now you can put it on your desktop

Version 2.0 changes:
- better and more accurate look
- new awesome "wireframe" skins
- with sound enabled Big Ben sound is played every hour (unfortunately sound doesn't work in a zipped widget, unzip the widget and open config.xml file in Opera if you want to hear it)

What a beautiful widget... one day I am going to see the Big Ben in real life! Anyhow... is not there a way for next versions of Opera to fix the sound problem... Unzipping the file and opening it in Opera is not exactly an end-user solution...

Big Ben is a super piece of widgetry.
How about the clock at Grand Central Station, NY next? And a cuckoo clock? I have a blog with clocks for NY, London and Basel time zones. I'd love to be able to place Big Ben on it (along with the other two I mentioned).

Can Big Ben be incorporated in a Blog?

I followed the chasb154 comment and it worked perfectly.
To have access to the "Application Data" folder you have to go to the Explorer bar... Tools->Folder Options ->View and click in "Show hidden files and folders" and confirm with "Ok".

No matter what I do I can't get the sound. I still like looking at Big Ben anyway. It's always on my screen. It's so beautiful.

when you click download, the widget is downloaded as a zip file to "C:\Documents and Settings\{user}\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile\widgets" (where user is the login name). Create a folder in that subdirectory and extract all files from the Big Ben zip.

Open Opera, then click File->Open. Browse to the folder where you've extracted the files. Select "XML" from "Files Of Type" at the bottom of the Open dialog box and select the "config.xml" file.

When you open this file, it will install the Big Ben widget with the sound.

An elegant, handsome widget. Thank you! I am baffled at some of the lukewarm responses you have received above. This is a work of great beauty. It has a function, of course: it tells the time. But even if it did not, I would still have it on my desktop. It is a beautiful object you have created for us.

Can we expect more widget art from you? The pyramids of Egypt? An Eiffel Tower wrapped in Christmas lights? A decorative fountain? Topiary trees that serve no purpose except to make our desktops beautiful and intriguing?

Beautiful! This is the best clock widget of all. One thing, when I move the mouse over the clock, the two icons appear at the bottom, but they won't disappear again. This spoils the appearance. Am I doing something wrong?
