Suggested feature: Google Bookmarks button. For Firefox, there's a really popular add-on called GMark. An emulation, or even an imitation of it would be fantastic.
Having perused google's selection of gadgets for Google Desktop and widgets for Opera, I can't help but notice the prominence of your Google Toolbar for Opera and its corrosponding cousin in GD. I've used local bookmarks for years and can't count the number of times I've lost them. I've begun using Google bookmarks and can now access them where ever I am. It's a tremendous benefit, would be most grateful to see it added.
It doesn't fit in a 1024 x 768 laptop window properly. If it is to emulate the official Google toolbar for IE, it should dock into the top of th eOpera window, not sit behind it which requires more clicking of the mouse, movement of the hands, etc. As you get older, it will be more important to you to minimize hand/finger movements.
If you could add like -- press alt+G -- and it would search in google press alt+Y -- and it would search in yahoo that would help a mouse avoider like me, it would be like diamond on gold :-Q And again if I could choose the shortcut then it would be like diamond on platinum LOL
Firefox had a downloadable Google toolbar. One feature was the "translate" command, allowing you to hover your cursor over a word, and a little box appeared under your cursor with the translation in another pre-selected language. Now that I'm with Opera, translating is much more involved, clicking words, selecting languages, and opening new windows. Is there any way of getting the original Google translate option in Opera?
I have my screen at 800 X 600, but hey, it works, it's quicker than finding a link to, say, Google Maps via the Bookmarks menu and it hides itself when you've used it.
Just found this widget and I love it. Only thing I don't like is that the actual search text form is very small (can't see what I'm typing) and I can't find a way to resize it.
Is there (or could there be) a way to remove the search text form like the other buttons (and use Opera's default google search form) or include a way to resize it?
Nice widget! Like others before me said, you need to trim down the default displayed icon set a bit. Being able to set the order of buttons would be nice, too.
Seeing as it is a hovering toolbar and not a real one, I turned on the Personal toolbar, removed everything in it and put the GToolbar widget there. Fits perfectly.
This is a great widget. The default setting is too wide though. I use 1280 X 1024 resolutions, which is probably the "average high" resolution around. I wish the widget was about 900 pixels wide instead. The compact version is better but it's a bit cluttered with all the icons together like that.
