Enter a mathematical function and have it plotted on a 2D plane.
------
Equations are entered as a function of x. An example for a unit circle would be:
f(x) = (1-x^2)^(1/2)

There is one main feature that is missing from this release and that is that the axis do not have markings on them. This is due to the limitation of Canvas not being able to write text, however in a later release I will have my own text implementation.

How about a Jabber IM widget? By the way, this widget is great for kids. You're a genius!

Benjamin you're a real Javascript guru! That's a wonderful bulk of code., But I notice that your widgets are all Internet irrelevant, why ignore the best part of Javascript? I don't think force Javascript to do Java, C\C++'s work is a good direction, even if you can change Microsoft Office into a widget.
I wrote the file called "parse.js" about a month ago for another math program I was developing so it was handy that I could use it here as well. That file took probably a good 4 hours and is mainly in place to stop people from crashing the program by inserting bad codes, and to allow the ^ sign as that is not native to JavaScript. The bulk of the program I wrote in two sittings on the weekend that probably occupied about 8 hours of my time.
Whether or not you consider a program like this suitable for widgets is entirely your opintion and that's fine, I just hope that fewer developers feel restricted by that paradigm.
I'm not so sure - if you can use widgets as a cross-platform development tool, much like Java, why not? I agree that I'm not sure I'd need it available all the time, but it might be handy to have.
Of of interest, how long did it take to develop something this complex, from start to finish?
Wow, great widget but this is more of a proof of concept sort of widget. I mean it proves that a lot can be done using widgets (and canvas etc) but I am not sure if this is what widgets are supposed to be for. Widgets are supposed to be utilities and can not compete with programs. I am not sure why I would use this for a quick reference or something. The png export feature is great though. Seriously, I love the widget and rated it 5 star, and if I had kids I could teach them something using this since it is easy to use, but I am not going to use it. Another thing, this widget also proves you are a good programmer+designer.

Great work, but text would really be great

One thing I'd like is the ability to zoom x and y separately.
