Responce to DDC: Bah it's far better to use random letters in caps and lower case with numbers mixed in.. all you have to do is use letters and numbers that relate to something only you would know about...or be thinking about.. remember this gen only changes 7 letters into numbers and makes the pass long or short that's weak.

LettuceBomb 作 , # 2007/12/01 22:20:48

This isn't strong.. It's just a 1337 gen.. It only changes these letters into numbers "abegstz"

This is great! Could be better if I could store some of the passwords generated.

I would be great if it generated symbols, as well, even if just based on those in the text entered by the user. A strong hash involved symbols, numbers, letters, and mixed-case text.

Every time I use the password generator, it opens a new tab. Is there a way to stop the widget from doing that?

Best,

Works well - I like it.
Now the next password widget needs to be one that will allow me to view my wand entries and edit, if necessary!

I'm not going to need this but it definately seems useful. It may not be random but Like DDC said, it turns one easy to remember phrase into a very difficult password to brute force hack. One suggestion that is a must though, Specifying password length would be very useful.

Sorry, I can't speak English very well.

Thanks DDCarvalho, and this widget provide passwords exactly like your opinion...

Meletoth 作 , # 2006/06/29 11:19:58

First, to copy the password it generates just double-click the password and choose Copy.
Second, it is a good thing the password generator doesn't use random functions because it would make it generate a different one every time you put in it the same sentence, while I think its purpose is to help people who pick weak passwords to pick some better ones without having to remember a random sequence of letters and numbers and with no need to write down the password in somewhere it can be found. This way, they only have to remember the sentence (which is WAAAAAY easier) and put it in the generator to recover the password.
Well, it's just my opinion. Maybe the developer has other ideas in respect to that.

Hi:

Usually, passwords are based on (pseudo) random generators.
This one seems to use a real sentence, which is far from random.
It would be nice if one knew more about the method of genertion,
in order to estimate its nearness to ideal random.

I really like this password generator but I do not know h o w to use it.

Could you please give me some advice because I am a newcomer.

Thanks in advance!!

Would be a good thing if you actually can 'copy' the generated password from the field.

afterxleep 作 , # 2006/05/21 21:16:00

Nice, but it would be a good feature if you could specify the length of the password.

Good job.
