Just press F8 to load the Add/Remove/Pin menu for widgets. Click on Remove, an X will appear in the upper left area of the widget. Click on it and it will go away!
aa i clicked you and now i can't get rid of you...have to close and reopen opera... [edited after Opera reopened] but you still get 5stars for your idea
