This widget is my attempt to remedy the shortcomings of the World-Clock widget by haskellHacker.
It contains the following fixes:
Rewrote most of the code to be HTML5 compliant.
Now shows dates for the selected time zones.
The widget now remembers the last selected time zone instead of defaulting to Europe.
Ability to toggle between 24-hour time and AM/PM time.
Fixed zero padding (i.e., 6:00:00 was showing up as 6:0:0)
Reduced total file size by >50%
For those of you who may voice comments on the accuracy of the zones, this widget isn't meant to be an absolute authority on world time. Time zones aren't as perfectly vertical as they appear here, with half-hour offsets and DST adherence and other national and local idiosyncrasies adding to the inaccuracy.
Thanks for the suggestion, Abhay. I considered doing just that, but there are multiple names for the same time zone, which change depending on country.
This one's a preety sleek and useful app.. I would suggest an upgrade by adding the timezone label for every zone. But still a great helpful widget.. thanks a bunch
