An Ebook reader that reads the Epub format.

This widget reads Ebooks in the Epub format. Please note that this widget will not work in regular Opera builds. It needs an Opera build with File I/O support, which can be downloaded from Opera Labs.

Widget instructions:
Books can be added by going to the library and then click "Add book...". An opened book can be read by clicking "Read".
Free Ebooks can be downloaded from e.g. jedisaber.com and feedbooks.com.

The book can then be navigated with the keyboard. The widget has the following shortcuts:

Scroll up: Shift-Space, Page up, Arrow up, Z
Scroll down: Space, Page down, Arrow down, X
Previous chapter: Arrow left
Next chapter: Arrow right
Chapter top: Home
Chapter bottom: End
Toggle TOC panel: F4, T
Toggle bookmark panel: B

Current limitations:

To be able to open an Epub file, they must have a .zip extension
Removed books will show up when the widg

can you make the widget to read txt file? I am using archos, this is probably the only tool that may allow me to read e-book

Laisvunas, thanks for the feedback. The scrolling is a known problem, and the resizing will be fixed, I promise.

(I'm the developer of the widget btw).

Not being able to use scrollbar or mouse scroll wheel for moving up or down the page is quite irritating.

Also the possibility to resize widget window by dragging its border is sorely lacking.

Despite these shortcomings overall usability of the widget is much better than Digital Editions.

Yet another serious issue is support for javascript. It seems that the widget does not execute scripts included into publication. Epub spec does not forbid scripting in publications, only does not recommend it - so it would be better if scripting were fully supported.

personally i feel like this is one of the best widgets desgined for opera to date
and also, one of the best widgets to use teh file I/O system
(at least you make a better use of it than the demo's

)

it would be nice if a simmilar widget could be made for other formats,
or of this one could reat other formats such as pdf or doc

thanks for the amazing widget though
